Pesto
Pesto is a heritage of Italian cuisine, memories of simplicity, patience, family warmth in a house filled with the scent that came from the kitchen. Pesto is one of the sauces of the typical culinary tradition of the Liguria region, a jagged arch on the sea, cradle of aromatic herbs.
The original pesto is a cold sauce made from basil and cheese, enriched with pine nuts, garlic and extra virgin olive oil. The ingredients are crushed and combined into an even mixture. The tools traditionally used are mortar and pestle, hence its name. In other areas of Italy, such as Sicily, its recipe includes pistachio instead of basil
